With the fierce competition for places on the wing at United, Ben has been limited to substitute appearances for United. In order to stay fit, Alex Ferguson agreed to two loan spells, firstly at Stockport County where he formed an instant bond with the local supporters and scored his first league goal, secondly at Huddersfield Town, scoring twice. The only blackspot on these spells was a rather dubious disciplinary record. |
