A big-money signing from Ipswich Town, he left them for �1.9m in August 1993, But Dozzell, 29, has never fully settled with Tottenham and not commanded a regular first team place. That is in stark contrast to the success he enjoyed at Ipswich where he started as an apprentice in December 1984 and graduated through the ranks. Along the way the Ipswich-born midfielder-attacker collected England Youth and Under-21 honours. He also claimed a place in the record books when at the age of 16 years and 57 days he became the youngest scorer in the old First Division with a goal against Coventry in February 1984.
