| | An inspired signing from Newcastle United in October 1995, the price of �4.2m was quickly made to look a snip as Fox slotted into the Tootenham team as if he had always been a part of the set up. A tricky right winger blessed with the ability to go left as well, Fox has provided the ammunition for the powerful heading skills of the Tottenham's central strikers Teddy Sheringham and Chris Armstrong. He is also a goalscorer. The 27-year-old Ipswich-born Fox started his career with Norwich but struggled to command a permanent place in the side, mainly because his goal-scoring return was not deemed hight enough. Even so Newcastle bought his wing talents for �2.5m in February 1994 but again while a frequent first teamer he was not a regular. At Tottenham he has been allowed to do what he does best and has responded accordingly. Fox has won England `B' international honours. | |
