| | Joined Tottenham as a trainee in July 1989 and turned professional in 1991. The 23-year-old Ilford-born central defender was then sent out on loan to Maidstone United - then in the Fourth Division and later wound-up - and he spent three months with the Kent side. He then enjoyed another loan spell with professional newcomers - this time Barnet, before finally being given his chance by Spurs in the 1992-93 season when he came in for the injured Gary Mabbutt. His appearances have been few and far between - mainly because of the reliability of Mabbutt - but that does not mean he is not essential to the team - and indeed the greater number of his appearances have been made from the substitutes' bench. | |
