| An England international midfielder whose career went off the boil somewhat after his move to Hillsborough in August 1993. An England schoolboy international, he joined Cambridge on schoolboy forms and became their youngest ever player when making his debut in Nov 1982, aged just 16. When Cambridge dropped from the Second Division to the Fourth, Sinton was sold to Brentford for financial reasons. Three years later he moved again, this time to QPR for 350,000. After winning England "B" honours, Sinton made his senior debut in the 1-1 draw in Poland which secured England's ticket to the 1992 European Championship Finals. The 29 year-old cost Wednesday a joint club record fee of 2.75m. He scored three goals in his first five games for the Owls but was dogged by injury last season. Tottenham have thrown him a lifeline to help him ressurect his career. He will face fierce competition from Darren Anderton for the right wing berth, but he will fight all the way. | |
